alright so this is basically the first and last time i might do this (idk don't hold that against me).

hey enha ficdom.... how y'all doing? it's kinda of crazy that this is the longest work of fiction i've done and it's for a group i didn't think i'd get into until literally the day drunk-dazed dropped. this fic has taken me a long 8 fucking months tp finish this fic because im a big fucking procrastinator and also up until i got into them i was planning on quitting kpop anyways.

let's just talk about this fic:

fic date start + wc goal: may 3rd, 2021 + 6k
fic date end + total wc: feb 7th, 2022 + 23k

when i started this fic, i had in mind just a short sungwon vamp fic loosely based off what we knew of the dark moon timeline and storyline via theories. i think i didn't even have any idea how it would work truly until i wrote a majority of the present day parts and it was at 6k, no real plot and just a bunch of scenes that don't really link together well.

thus began the long ass months of me randomly getting an idea at work, writing that shit down during my breaks and just working with these little bursts until December. my interest was waning but then i just banged it out and omg yeah i love this fic.

I like the idea of this cult little section of vampires just turning people to turn people and the way that affects the people that are being "experimented on" for it. the beginning of this fic was heavily just pushed by this little video fueling me. im sorry for real for putting Jungwon through it in this.

i dont really know how these things go but little things that didn't make the cut:

1. Heeseung and Jake's relationship: alright now it's briefly mentioned they're in love but like i had originally planned for this fic to shift from two perspectives-- Heeseung's and Jungwon's. I figured early on that this would absolutely give me a fucking headache to plan out so we are stuck with Jungwon's pov and I think it worked out for the best. Although, I do love the way it's just there... like Jake shows up and Jungwon can feel Heeseung pinning through their fucking link *chef kiss*.
2. Heeseung being in love with Jungwon: my beta, kelly, had picked this up while editing but yes, i push the heewon agenda (rest in peace jesse) because i love the leader and his himbo second in command. i view this fic as almost a heewon and sungwon fic solely because i spend a lot of time building both of those as Jungwon's most important relationships. i think due to the fact that it was mainly the two of them for a long time before jay, + the way heeseung had felt the need to protect & did protect Jungwon for the longest. in my head, heeseung loved jungwon in his own way, showing up in his need to protect jungwon and the way he kisses him for comfort but he loves jake.
3. Their powers: i know i dont explicitly say some of their powers or their weapon choice because it would've felt clunky to always have a section to introduce it rather than the way i show it, but for those curious: Heeseung has the ability to heal/telekinesis. so regardless of the fact that Heeseung gains a mental link to Jungwon because Jungwon is his creator, he can just talk to others via their mind. (it's self explainatory.) i think he would use swallow which is just a mini sword with two ends. Jungwon had speed and strength but not as super as Jay's. We see him use daggers as his main weapon but because of everything, he's mastered it all. Jay has super strength and uses a bow and arrow and brass knuckles. Jake is a pyrotechnic and i would love the idea of tonfa or ring swords. Sunghoon and Riki both mimic other powers but Sunghoon has limitations whereas Riki has no limitations. Sunghoon prefers using his hands for combat but uses sai when he has to. I think if they would've stayed longer, Riki would be in awe of a sword... just a regular old sword.
4. Baekhyun + werewolves: we get a glimpse of Baekhyun's power/influence on the castle and everything but i originally wanted Baekhyun to be like this dude that just goes around stopping similar things like the castle and that leading to Jungwon meeting K, the werewolf. god one day, ill find a way to fit my baby daddy K in a fic fr. I think it would've taken away from the importance of Jungwon's sort of self reflection so maybe for another fic if i ever get off my ass :>

 

there isn't much more to add i think. maybe i'll come back to add anything if i can think of it. please treat this fic with gentle hands, i want all the feedback tbh. i hope you enjoy this.
